KUALA LUMPUR – Two-time prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) Cardiac Care Unit, a spokesman confirmed to the media.

Journalists were congregating outside the specialist centre after rumours went abuzz about Dr Mahathir’s worrying condition.

However, The Vibes was made to understand that his condition is currently stable.

At the same time, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was also seen entering the hospital premises to visit his former boss and party leader.

Earlier, the Langkawi MP’s communications representatives had told his WhatsApp media group that IJN or his family will be issuing a statement on Dr Mahathir’s condition.

It was previously reported that on December 16, Mahathir had been admitted to IJN to undergo health screenings and was released about eight days later after undergoing several tests.

The 96-year-old Pejuang founder had also undergone an elective health procedure on January 7 at the same facility.

He was later discharged on January 13. – The Vibes, January 22, 2022
